Why is there a fee for Hijama?

Narrated Ibn`Abbas: When the Prophet (ﷺ) was cupped, he paid the man who cupped him his wages. Sahih al-Bukhari 2278 - Hiring - كتاب الإجارة - Sunnah.com - Sayings and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم)

Limitations of Hijama

Hijama is a beneficial Sunnah practice and can be helpful for a variety of conditions. However, all healing ultimately comes from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ — Subḥānahu wa taʿālā). The practitioner simply performs the treatment, while shifā’ is from Allah alone. The Prophet ﷺ utilized various forms of treatment, including Hijama, honey, and other remedies. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including proper diet and habits, is also important. Hijama should be seen as part of a broader approach to wellness, not a standalone solution. Allah knows best (وَاللّٰهُ أَعْلَمُ — Wallāhu aʿlam).
